06 October 2016National Poetry Day at the Life Rooms

Through the work of Pauline Rowe, who works for us delivering the Poet-in-Residence project in Mersey Care, a wonderful celebration for National Poetry Day was held in the Life Rooms, Walton.  The day was launched by Beatrice Fraenkl (Chair of Mersey Care NHS Foundation Trust) and welcomed over 65 speakers and readers including local residents, service-users and carers, writers and poets.  We were particularly delighted to welcome poets Maria Isakova Bennett (who supports our work at Mossley Hill) and Angela Topping who read from her latest book, The Five Petals of Elderflower (Red Squirrel Press, 2016).
