SOME PREVIOUS PROJECTS
§ In 2012 from February to October we developed and delivered an innovative writing & well-being project with funding from Liverpool PCT: Writing Well - Writing Green. Project Lead - Pauline Rowe, Project Assistant - Paul Mangan.
§ In Jan - March 2012 we ran our Spoken Word Project with renowned spoken word performer Martin Daws as our writer in residence. The aim of the project was to help adults develop confidence and build skills in performing their own work
§ In 2011 we ran the Living Room project at the Victoria Gallery and Museum - a project for people with lived experience of mental distress.
2011 participants in the Liverpool Sea Odyssey - letter writing project with workshops run by novelist Carol Fenlon.
§ In 2010 we piloted a Songwriter's group under the direction of Liverpool based poet and musician Ade Jackon.
§ In 2009 we were involved in a digital storytelling project in Anfield with Tenantspin.
§ In 2009 we also ran the Nature in the City project encouraging writing about green and environmental concerns in writing. Poet Jen Hadfield came to do a workshop for us and launch the project at FACT. We also ran a poetry competition on the theme which was won by Elspeth McLean.
§ In 2008 North End Writers went South with a big celebration day held in the open theatre space in Calderstones Park with readings from our patron Deryn Rees-Jones, our good and late friend Michael Murphy and others. Music provided by John Rowe and Darren Shaw.
2008: We also ran our Liverpool Young Writers competition (details on separate link) promoted across all schools on Merseyside.
§ In 2007 we gained charitable status.
§ In 2007 we set up our Community Publishing project and produced issue 1 of The Accent magazine which was circulated to organisations throughout Liverpool including every library.
§ In 2006 our first group met at Lister Drive library.
